Sam Ash - Refused to return merch
I bought a book and when I brought it back they refused to refund. I had the receipt, it was in perfect condition, and it was returned within a week of purchase.
They pointed to some fine print on the receipt and cited copyright laws for why they couldn't refund the purchase price.
What a scam. Bad business move for them to treat customers in this manner and such shortsightedness on the part of management will definitely influence the continued stagnant growth of their business. Thanks goodness customers have a choice here.
I will take my business elsewhere and encourage anyone I come in contact with to do the same.
Fortunately I am in a position which involves communicating with a lot of people.

It's not a scam. There are copyright laws in place for a reason.
Many people will buy a book, make copies of what they want and then return the book. Those laws exist for the same reason that you can't return software.
*** boo hoo. give the baby his/her bottle.
They were actually right in not allowing you to return copyrighted materials. I don't know of any place that will allow you to buy printed material (whether you read it, copy it or not) then return it for a full refund.
Copyright laws are are in place for a reason and that is to protect the author, publisher and retail merchant.
You shouldn't have taken this so personally. Just saying.
Yeah, whenever I have been there in paramus the managment staff in front of store seems very unprofessional and always cursing being loud and obnoxious. They don't seem to treat their employees good and play favoritism .
No wonder no customers are ever in the store anymore.
I think they scare them away. I feel sorry for the other people that work there who have to put up with that and get blamed.
